Job Description

Sales Account Manager - National Accounts (Packaging | Remote)

We're looking for a mid-level Sales Account Manager with strong packaging industry experience to manage and grow a portfolio of national, multi-location customer accounts. This is a remote role with approximately 10% travel, focused on deepening existing customer relationships, expanding share of wallet, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives as a farmer-building trust, identifying growth opportunities within established accounts, and partnering cross-functionally to deliver long-term value.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a book of national packaging accounts, managing ongoing relationships across multiple customer locations and stakeholders.
  • Actively maintain and grow existing business through upselling, cross-selling, renewals, and new product adoption.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer packaging needs, operational challenges, and business goals to provide tailored solutions.
  • Serve as the customer advocate internally, partnering with operations, planning, customer service, and product teams to ensure consistent delivery and service.
  • Manage day-to-day account activity, proactively resolving issues and ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Build and maintain accurate customer-driven forecasts and communicate demand expectations to internal teams.
  • Support pricing discussions and contract renewals in partnership with leadership and pricing teams.
  • Travel periodically (~10%) for customer meetings and relationship development.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of direct experience in the packaging industry (manufacturing, distribution, or packaging solutions required).
  • Experience managing national or multi-location customer accounts; Fortune 500 exposure strongly preferred.
  • Proven success growing revenue within existing accounts rather than pure new-logo sales.
  • Strong understanding of packaging products, pricing structures, production considerations, and delivery expectations.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive alignment internally and externally.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in a remote environment while supporting occasional travel.

Why Join Us

  • Established customer base with long-term relationships already in place
  • Strong internal support and cross-functional collaboration
  • Environmentally mission-driven organization committed to sustainable packaging solutions and reducing environmental impact
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping customers adopt more responsible, forward-thinking packaging practices
  • Remote flexibility with limited travel
